Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is a type of AI system that would be able to address a broad range of tasks with human-level or higher general cognitive capability. The concept is usually distinguished from narrow AI, which is optimized for specific tasks, because AGI would adapt, reason, learn, and transfer knowledge across domains. AGI remains a theoretical or not-yet-realized form of AI in most technical and policy discussions.
