Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the field of research, engineering, and deployment of machine-based systems that can perform tasks normally associated with human intelligence. Such tasks may include perception, language understanding, prediction, recommendation, reasoning, learning, decision-making, and action in real or virtual environments. AI includes multiple approaches, such as rules-based systems, machine learning, optimization, symbolic reasoning, and autonomous agents, and may trigger legal or governance obligations when used with personal data or in regulated contexts.
