The AI Office is the European Commission function established to support implementation, monitoring, and supervision of AI systems, general-purpose AI models, and AI governance under the EU AI framework. In that legal context, references to the AI Office are understood as references to the Commission function responsible for those tasks.
The Commissionβs function of contributing to the implementation, monitoring and supervision of AI systems and general-purpose AI models, and AI governance, provided for in Commission Decision of 24Β January 2024; references in this Regulation to the AI Office shall be construed as references to the Commission.
