Caesar AI Atlas Definition

An AI Incident is an event or series of events in which the development, deployment, use, or malfunction of an AI system causes or could cause harm. Such harm may involve safety, discrimination, privacy, legal compliance, critical infrastructure, property, communities, or the environment.

An event, circumstance or series of events where the development, use or malfunction of one or more AI systems directly or indirectly leads to any of the following harms: injury or harm to the health of a person or groups of people disruption of the management and operation of critical infrastructure violations of human rights or a significant breach of obligations under applicable laws, including intellectual property, privacy and Indigenous cultural and intellectual property harm to property, communities or the environment.

Any harmful, biased, unsafe or unexpected behaviour from an AI system (e.g., discriminatory outputs, privacy breaches, safety risks). Log and review with an AI Incident Report.
