Natural Language Understanding (NLU) is a subfield of natural language processing focused on interpreting the meaning, intent, entities, and context of human language. It supports tasks such as intent classification, semantic parsing, entity recognition, and dialogue understanding.
A subset of natural language processing that determines the intentions of something said or typed. Natural language understanding can go beyond natural language processing to consider complex aspects of language like context, sarcasm, and sentiment.
